What to do with our blogs?

We are going to stop the blogging unless students feel like continuing. For that we need parent signatures for permission. I do not know if I want to continue blogging, so readers may no longer hear from me.

Last Post!!!!

For my last post I will do a movie review. The movie Prince Caspian is a pretty good movie. The actors are now better, since they have more experience. It is action packed and has cool special effects for Aslan and the fauns. Overall the movie is good, and no wonder it was a big blockbuster.

Thanks for writing about SPACE! Mr. Mayo wants lots of people to know about it. I don’t have any work on it yet, but I plan to put something on it soon. I’m glad you guys blogged about us!

Why?

Why are we the way we are?

Why is the world the way it is?

How is the world so colorful?

How is everything like it is?

Why is the world so round?

Why can certain things not be found?

How is water clear but blue?

How has a bird always flown?

Everyone has questions,

And everything has answers.

We can figure out what we want,

If we search for our answers.

A Growing Tree

Starting as a seed

Planted way below,

With photosynthesis,

Sprouts begin to grow.

As the time goes by

You will soon then see,

The small green plant becoming

More alike a tree.

First the plant will grow a branch,

And some more begin to bend,

Then green leaves show up,

And bark begins to mend.

Overtime you will have grown,

A tree of great height,

And this sturdy, healthy plant

Will be a wondrous sight.

Trees are like alot of things

That we do in life,

Over lots and lots of time,

We get what we strive.

International Blog for Darfur Day

Darfur today has a population of 200,000 people. Three years ago, there were 600,00 people living in Darfur. This decrease in people living in Darfur could have been alot smaller than it is, but no one chose to do anything about it. This is a result of a lack in Global Responsibility. The world should have done something about the genocide in Darfur. But we didn’t take action, and now so nmany lives have been  lost.

The National Holacaust Museum says “never again” will there be a genocide, and the UN together would make it so another horrible event would never occur again. But it has! look how selfish our world is. Now the genocide is spreading to neighboring Chad. The people living there are sick, dying, and injured, and women are being raped. You can’t possibly know how they are living, but you can play Darfur is Dying to get a glympse of how they survive today. All citizens that aren’t the dangerous janjaweed, are living unsure if they will live the following day. We should have done something about it!

The UN has just recently sent peacekeeping troops into Darfur, but it is really too late. How can we live with this happenning. It is our responsibility. It is the world’s responsibility. We must do more to help those living in Darfur!

My Blog Reflection

My favorite blog post from this year would be the post Media Awareness Reflection . I think that having blog sites is a good way of doing class assignments while having fun, and you can access them anytime you want. My writing has improved greatly through this year. I am more creative and I put links in my posts now. One thing I do well is I have good grammar in my posts. One thing I need to work on in my blogging is being more creative in what I write.

Darfur Notes

-students are trying to get everyone to care –petitions have been made, letters to congress –there have been 2 civil wars in Sudan –racism drives most of the conflict –Darfur Conflict began in 2003 –drought, and small attack are main causes –janjaweed were hired by gavernment to put down the rebellers –they were basically “draining the swamp to kill the fish” –200,000 - 400,000 have been killed in –2 million people living in Darfur, originally there were 6 million –Sunni government is taking advantage of the “race enemies” –poeple basically wait to die in the camps –Sunni gov is taking advantage of the poverty aswell –China is supplying Sudan with weapons and military items –janjaweed are mainly Arab and Muslum –children will never forget what they saw in Darfur –its shark vs trout –Darfur is the longest ongoing genocide –why is no one doing anything??????????? –peace treaties haven’t lasted very long –Iraq and Darfur conflicts will probably stop at the same time –Sunni gov pretend they don’t know whats going on –gov denies providing helicopters to the janjaweed –there have been troops sent from UN, but not much has been done –news doesn’t show much about the Darfur conflict –people just don’t care because they are too lazy, they need to step up — many people think it would be another USA Iraq invasion, but that is a misconsception — troops wouldn’t be able to start a killing invasion, it would be a peace keeping thing — divestments have been drawn from businesses in Sudan — economic punishments to Sudan(their $ and credit cards are worthless outside of Sudan) — Sudan has oil and some other things — people want to pressure Bush to do more than he is, and to do what he saysy should China hold the olympics when they are supplying the janjaweed –
