Nurturing Brand Loyalty Article Reflection

The main points of this article is that corporations are being sneaky and advertising to young preschoolers, in an “educational” way. Companies do this so that youngsters recognize their company’s logos, and making them want to purchase their products.

I found that even car companies, such as Ford, advertise in preschools in safety posters, having certain info about cars, and having Ford’s blue logo on it (on every other page)!!!!   The result of this could be parents wanting to buy a Ford car, instead of a different car because of the safety factors, and how much Ford cares about the little kids.

SEE HOW SNEAKY CORPORATIONS ARE? They know exactly how we feel and react!

CNN McDonald’s Article Reflection

I think people like food better when it comes in a McDonald’s wrapper because they are pulled into the advertising, and them liking the food from there, so their brains recognize the logos, and makes them think that they are eating something just like McDonald’s food. This way of advertising/ brainwashing is BRAND NAME LOYALTY.

Media Awareness Reflection

Advertisers use psychology because they can find what makes children “tick”. They do this by getting info from psychologists that helps them catch what kids like, and they advertise using that.
Advertisers build brand name loyalty to get kids to recognize their labels/ logos. They do this by advertising things on TV that make little kids see things, and they remember the logos from young ages.
“Buzz” or “Street Marketing” is when advertisers give products to the “COOL” kids, so kids want to wear/have whatever the product is too, because they want to be cool aswell.
Some marketers target rated R movies towards teens, so they want to watch them, even though they are supposed to be targeted towards adults. All of these things are very sneaky, just so the companies can gain money.

Propaganda and Censorship in North Korea

In North Korea, there is a lot of propaganda and censorship. Propaganda means information that is spread for the purpose of some cause. Censorship means the removal or withholding of info from the public by a controlling a group or body.

The ruler of North Korea, Kim-Il Sung, has spread propaganda across N. Korea, making the citizens believe in his ways. This made everyone think that his comunist ways are good. Censorship is also occuring in the country, having everyone only knowing the positive information being spread, and people being punished because of their disobeying of the law.

Children’s Book Reflection

My digital book turned out pretty good, but it didn’t exactly come out the way I envisioned it to be. It didn’t look as good as I planned, and the music didn’t seem to be the best that it could have been.
The THEME of the story was a trek to a pot of gold at the end of the rainbow. The SUSPENSE of the story would be when the squirrel and Rick jumped over the volano on the back of the unicorn. The MOOD of the story was the bright colors in the pictures, giving the story a happy feeling. The squirrel was personified with personification when he spoke to Rick.
It was very worthwhile turning these into digital books because you can hear music which can help you understsnd the mood and theme of the story. This helped me understand the concepts of our Word Wall.
Next time I would try to work more on the story line, and be a little more creative on the presentation.
