My Blog Reflection

My favorite blog post from this year would be the post Media Awareness Reflection . I think that having blog sites is a good way of doing class assignments while having fun, and you can access them anytime you want. My writing has improved greatly through this year. I am more creative and I put links in my posts now. One thing I do well is I have good grammar in my posts. One thing I need to work on in my blogging is being more creative in what I write.

Darfur Notes

-students are trying to get everyone to care –petitions have been made, letters to congress –there have been 2 civil wars in Sudan –racism drives most of the conflict –Darfur Conflict began in 2003 –drought, and small attack are main causes –janjaweed were hired by gavernment to put down the rebellers –they were basically “draining the swamp to kill the fish” –200,000 - 400,000 have been killed in –2 million people living in Darfur, originally there were 6 million –Sunni government is taking advantage of the “race enemies” –poeple basically wait to die in the camps –Sunni gov is taking advantage of the poverty aswell –China is supplying Sudan with weapons and military items –janjaweed are mainly Arab and Muslum –children will never forget what they saw in Darfur –its shark vs trout –Darfur is the longest ongoing genocide –why is no one doing anything??????????? –peace treaties haven’t lasted very long –Iraq and Darfur conflicts will probably stop at the same time –Sunni gov pretend they don’t know whats going on –gov denies providing helicopters to the janjaweed –there have been troops sent from UN, but not much has been done –news doesn’t show much about the Darfur conflict –people just don’t care because they are too lazy, they need to step up — many people think it would be another USA Iraq invasion, but that is a misconsception — troops wouldn’t be able to start a killing invasion, it would be a peace keeping thing — divestments have been drawn from businesses in Sudan — economic punishments to Sudan(their $ and credit cards are worthless outside of Sudan) — Sudan has oil and some other things — people want to pressure Bush to do more than he is, and to do what he saysy should China hold the olympics when they are supplying the janjaweed –

Many Voices for Darfur

On March 6th, we are asking students around the world to participate in a worldwide Darfur Blogging Day. Students should write well written comments on their opinions and what they feel about the problems in Darfur. The whole point of this day is to raise awareness about the conflict in Darfur.

—In Darfur, many people have died because of the janjaweed, and it is so bad there, that they are now a genocide country. In 2003, therew were 200,000 people that died. It is the responsibility of the world, and the UN to do something about the conflict in Darfur.
